Hi everyone, if there is any =P Sorry for the extra long delay for this revamping to finally get done and dusted. Lots of unpredicable things happened and suddenly laziness brought on it.
Well, I shan't continue to give excuses and get this opening post underway. I decided to use this blog for anything that i wanted to speak my mind for, unlike the past one where I only tell the sad things that's happening.
I've already shown my graciousness about yesterday's match winner in FB already. I would actually give my 2 cents worth about why Man Utd lost.
First of all, let's me talk about the starting line up. It is the same formation and players that beat Arsenal in the 2nd leg semi-finals. Well, it proved somewhat effective against the inexperience side of Wenger but it is in no way efficient. Did Utd played well in the semi? No. It was Park's early goal that kill the game. Otherwise Arsenal would probably worked Utd inside out.
I think SAF (Sir Alex Ferguson) mentality for the line up was to capitalise on the Barca defence as Yaya Toure plays as a Center Back. He wanted C.Ron to out run Pique and Yaya as both of them were not the fastest runner on the pitch. The chance never comes as the 2 Barca midfield generals always track back and cover the back 4 which is suppose to be the way Utd should play.
There are other mistakes to go along with the line up. The players themselves were not playing well the usual way. I just dun understand why would SAF played Wayne out of position in the biggest game of the season? Wayne isn't threathening play wide, probably just because he bothers to trackback to help out in the defence. So what ? You are suppose to be leathal in the attack to win the game. In the closing mintues of the 1st half when Rooney was drifted to the striker position he was much more dangerous and I dun know why instead of playing a striker role in the 2nd half he was reverted to play on the right. 0.o ?
I dun understand why Giggs actually starts, this game was anticipated to be a fast game and given his age and fitness could he ? Problably as a sub. He was played behind C.Ron and proved to be a failure. I think SAF didn't study Barca well enough to realise that the Center Mid were pontentially Iniesta and Xavi. He actually lets Carrick take both of them on alone ? While Anderson just run around like he was training ? Giggs wasn't tracking back which i presumed the reason was his fitness. Carrick looked a little tensed having to take on 2 world class Center Midfileder together.
Now to C.Ron, I think he just has to learn how to track back more to be effective as a midfielder. When you are down, get back up straight away and not whine like a inmature kid. I think you are old and professional enough to know that referres dun turn back on their decisions. Get Messi's number and grab a few tips from him.
Although I said Barca deserved to win but they weren't playing beautifully. Eto'o got lucky in my opinion as Vidic doesn't have the pace to keep up with him. Look at Puyol, he is a dsappointment having to be one of the big names in the footballing world. He was always crying when challenged during the match and delibrate time wasting as early as in the 1st half after they lead.
If I were to pick the team for the final, this would be it:
Van Der Sar
O'shea Rio Vidic Evra
C.Ron Scholes Carrick Park
Rooney Tevez
------
I would play C.Ron in the position where is he most comfortable with and switch with Park when deemed fit. Rooney will roam between midfield and stirker area but most on the right side to cover C.Ron if he throws his tantrum as O'shea can't pace Theirry nor Messi nor Eto'o. Evra should stay back to tight mark whoever is on his side from the 3 forward of Barca.
Tevez can continue his great work to keep trying and trying and force some mistakes to counter.
Sit both Scholes and Carrick in front of the back 4 to cover them, hard tackle when necessary.
I might sub Giggs for Scholes during the 65th mintue if still level and fitness to play more attack flowing game. Berba for Park if needed.
Well, SAF said he is going to come back stronger next season which I hope he realised the fact that he needs Tevez to stay. Pay the 26 Millions, ask for the fans donation if need ! LOL.
