Manchester United vs Stoke (BPL) - 9 May 2010
It is down to the wire for the title this season and the odds are against United who are a point behind the leaders Chelsea. Personally wasn't expecting any miracle as I doubt Wigan could be a force to deny them. Just as thought, they were 1 up just 6 minutes.
United played well through out the match, there were some scared during the first half as Stoke had some good chances to be ahead. Fletcher got a scrapping chance and put United to the lead, but I wasn't excited as I knew the title is beyond our reach already. 2nd half was quite predicable as United went on to dominate in every inch of the pitch. That's all for me.
People were saying they United actually played above expectation having to lose Tevez and C.Ron and still managed to finished a point short of the title. I dun feel that way though as I felt Rooney was able to fill in the gap that C.Ron in particular left. When there are 2 stars in the team only 1 can shine. Live example is now at Real Madrid where C.Ron shone and Kaka didn't. Same applies to the last season's team and Rooney was overlooked for the awards that he ought to be receiving too in my opinion. I feel that the decider for the title was the match winner against United which saw the Ref allowing the offside goal to stand and caused United the 3 points. Well some part of us to blame was the slipped against Blackburn also. Well in whatever case, Congrats to Chelsea for doing the double for the 1st time in the history.
I hope SAF really look hard into the problems in the current team and step into the market and solve them. Obvious problem would be the striker issue. I will talk more about the expected changes for a fan's point of view in the next post.
